So Fourth of July weekend is upon us, and for some reason that made me feel extra-compelled to go out and do something than any other Saturday. Go figure. In any case, I promptly hopped on my trusty steed (the Manhattan-bound N Train) and galloped (commuted) my way into town,

I have never seen as many people out with cameras as I did today. At one point I saw about five or six people on the same small bridge, all looking out over one of the railings, shooting The Lake. It was kinda ridiculous.

Carriage horses always make me sad. Whenever I think about horses, I think wide open spaces. I think herds of wild horses, thundering across the plains. I don’t think of bridles and saddles and pulling carriages of fat tourists through a paved park.

I did a test shoot on Saturday with a friend-of-a-friend (see if you can guess her name), who was a dream to work with. I wish all my subjects were this easy to work with.

As can be surmised, I have made it to New York in one piece, more or less. The move was a schlep-and-a-half, and the next time I move out-of-state I’m not doing it by plane, but I made it mostly intact so I can’t complain too much.
