I pretty much grew up on Sergio Aragones. I read Groo voraciously, and the marginals were often my favorite part of MAD Magazine.
He was at WonderCon this weekend, and looked like the world’s friendliest guy. Someone truly happy to meet people and talk about anything.
I say “looked” because I never actually mustered the nerve to approach him and say hi. I’m not sure why. It’s not that I was starstruck or anything, and I normally have no problem introducing myself to a celebrity or artists I admire. But all the same, I didn’t feel comfortable doing it.
Go figure.
