Took this last weekend at Goh Nakamura’s birthday concert. I always have fun at Goh’s shows, and Cafe du Nord is quite literally my favorite venue in the city to see shows. It’s just so perfectly tiny and intimate. The acoustics aren’t always the greatest, but the fact that you are butted right up against the one-foot-high stage more than makes up for it. I saw Cary Brothers and Ben Lee there once and it was an amazing show.

I’ll take a small, intimate venue with a lesser-known act over the biggest act in the world in some massive arena, any day of the week.
