Episode Two brings us a portrait submission and a few tips and tricks on how to make images shot in small studios not look like they were shot in small studios. Portrait and Head Shot photography is all about the soft touch and keeping things simple—making the subject look good while still looking like themselves—and hopefully this video will help you do just that. And please don’t hesitate to download the RAW (a Nikon .NEF converted to .DNG) and take a crack at it yourself. I’ve added a means of uploading images with comments, so you’re free share your results below.
As a quick aside: you may notice the cursor or screen kinda jump from time to time. I have a tendency to ramble, which I do my best to trim in editing. I try to keep the video as seamless as possible, but you may notice a minor hiccup here or there.
If you would like to submit your own image to O.P.P. you can do so here.
Nice job with this second feature. I’m still learning some product photography basics and your tips on brightening and cleaning up white back drops will come in super handy. Looking forward to the next one.
Glad to have helped. If you wanna submit a product photo for a future episode, Ep 4 still needs a subject. 🙂
