This one was taken back home, in Manila. It gets pretty hot in the Philippines, especially during summer. Drivers (especially taxi and jeepney drivers) tend to carry small washcloths with them to mop the sweat off their brows and the backs of their necks over the course of the day. They also double as handy sun-blockers for quick noontime naps.

    I don’t really know what’s going on in this photo. The high contrast and lack of definition makes it hard to see what those things are that are covering their faces.

    Now that I look at this it sort of freaks me out as well because covering the faces with white things is sort of a ritual for the dead.
